Class-action lawsuit alleges that Maybelline’s Super Stay 14HR Lipstick and Super Stay 10HR Stain Gloss wear off and fade after only a few hours.
On Friday, three women (Carol Leebove, Wanda Santa and Denise Santiago) sued cosmetics maker, Maybelline, basically accusing it of lying – falsely advertising.
According to a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan (Leebove et al v. Maybelline LLC), the women alleged that Maybelline's Super Stay 14HR Lipstick and Super Stay 10HR Stain Gloss wear off and fade after only a few hours. Both of the above products cost about $9.00. Maybelline sales document claims the lip gloss "stays vibrant and shiny, yet transparent, and won't fade" for 10 hours, and that the lipstick has "super staying power."

The lawsuit seeks class-action status, compensatory and triple damages, and other relief.
In a press release, Rebecca Caruso, a spokesperson L'Oreal USA, said the company has not been served with the complaint, and does not discuss ongoing litigation.
